Emerging from our winter cocoons
With gladdened hearts we recently savored a 'false spring' on these windy wild plains of Kansas..a brief warming that restored us temporarily until old man winter shouldered his way back in.
Still, we've made it through the worst of it, fingers crossed, and the official Spring Equinox is merely weeks away.
As I nurture little baby flower seedlings under lights in my tiny farmhouse kitchen, I'm grateful for the ever present promise of hope that nature steadfastly provides year after year at this time. Green shoots thrusting through the cold ground, buds on trees following nature's trusted rhythms without fear of possible cold spells still ahead. Just life, forging on and moving forward with divine optimism.
As we keep those comfy sweats and warm woolens handy, it's also a time to prepare our bodies from the inside out, replacing vitamins and minerals lacking from heavy winter diets, and nurturing dry winter skin which will all too soon have to face the light of day.
Life happens and I'm a one girl show centered on family, but my mind is a springboard for fresh products in the making, new milk baths and rose butters and yes, seed collections!
