Cead Mile Failte! An Irish greeting that translates to 'A thousand welcomes!'
The arrival of a website 'home' is a sweet milestone in my flower journey that began quite long ago, even as a small girl combing fields for unusual wildflowers on our childhood home. Even then, fistful bouquets were made for my mother and anyone gladdened to receive them. I'd venture up the hill to a neighbor lady's house, one who would always return the favor with a pick from her candy dish. The barter system is a lovely thing.
We never gravitate far from who we were when we were just a child at 5. Our talents, inclinations towards experiences that beguile and hold our fascination are often discovered and found early in life. Sometimes along the way our paths divert away from that purpose, and sometimes we gladly return to find them.
One of my favorite quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson is "Trust thyself..every heart vibrates to that iron string." That inner compass seems most accurate when we are attuned to divine guidance and soft nudges that only come in stillness and introspection.
This little enterprise, although technically daunting for the art brained, serves as a different creative endeavor, an outlet for all the intriguing whims I'm pressed to explore, capturing thoughts and miraculous moments before my eyes in nature through photos. Nature continually inspires me and I'm in complete awe and wonder at the perfect beauty of her imperfection. The trusted seasonal rhythms provide a deep appreciation and gratitude for the gift of life itself, even in times of hardship and change. There is a reverence in nature and I choose to stay close, for in that peace is where those still voices of discernment whisper in.
So welcome welcome, and thank you for sharing in my small corner view of the world from a little old farmhouse on a windy hill on the Kansas plains. Another quote held dear from some place in childhood says "The love in your heart wasn't put there to stay, love isn't love 'til you give it away."
Thank you for accompanying me along the flower strewn path.
